I have encountered problems if i have redone a map and added RTR pieces to the map (regular bf1942 maps)...it kept crashing to desktop....I deleted pieces and it stopped crashing...so if you have added pieces from RTR and you keep getting crashes delete the pieces and try again...sorry ..

Battlecraft will add these with no crashes..

ok after you have finished your map save it somewhere safe and if its not still extracted to c:/bf1942 re-extract it again
now open up your extracted map and go into the main folder
now you need to delete these folders and.con files

AI folder
gametypes folder
init folder
objectlightmaps folder
pathfinding folder
sounds folder
textures folder
AI.con
AIpathfinding.con
CTF.con
cullradius.con
heightmap
materialmap
precache.con
readme.txt
singleplayerallied.con
singleplayeraxis.con

some of these may be missing just remember
the only files you want left are

conquest folder
CTF folder
menu folder
singleplayer folder
TDM folder
conquest.con
coop.con
init.con
staticobjects.con


open the conquest folder and delete all except these 3 files

controlpointtemplates.con
objectspawns.con
objectspawntemplates.con
(do the same for CTF,TDM,singleplayer)

next step
using notepad open the conquest folder and open the objectspawntemplates.con file
you will see a listing of the vehicles that look like this

the highlighted names are the vehicle name and they need to be changed..use these names in there place

now after you have changed the names save it

you also need to copy and paste the objectspawn.con from the conquest folder into the singleplayer folder for the vehicles to appear in co-op games


now with notepad open the menu folder then the init.con file and add these lines

game.setmapid "bf1942"
game.setserverinfoicon ../../bf1942/levels/your_map_name/menu/serverinfo.dds


now you need to go to program files/ea folder/battlefield folder/mods/desert combat folder and copy and paste the serverinfo.dds file into the extracted maps main menu folder..this will give you the little helmet next to the map name..
now using notepad open the init.con file in the main folder ..find the part that looks like this and delete it and paste this one in there

save the file
now you need to put the DC precache.con file in there.( main folder ).
the easiest way is to extract a DC map (program files/eafolder/battlefield1942/mods/desertcombat/archives/bf1942/levels) and copy and paste the precache.con file and save it in a folder for future use
(make sure you paste it in the main folder also and save)



now after you have done that your ready to see if it works
i use rfamaker
just make your rfa the same way as a regular map (use EXACT KEEP NAME EXACT as map your using
then copy and paste into the DC levels folder and activate DC and select map and play...co-op even works..

you have to have origional map installed in the bf levels folder for the DC one to work (ex...origional map my_new_map.rfa in levels folder....DC conversion of my_new_map.rfa into DC levels folder)
if not map will not show up in map list
